About Us

If my experience in landscaping has taught me anything, it’s that life is too short to not have paradise just outside your door. That’s why, after summers spent as a landscape foreman, I earned a degree in landscape architecture; it’s why I worked hard to receive certification from the state of Washington as a licensed landscape architect.

It’s also why I joined Alderwood Landscaping in 1992 – and own the company today. For more than 25 years, Alderwood has shown an uncompromising commitment to a higher quality of life for its clients. By providing landscape architecture, design, and construction services, we offer complete landscape solutions, enhancing both the beauty and the functionality of outdoor environments throughout the United States.

How much should I spend on my project?
One way to arrive at a preliminary number is to begin by discussing the value of your property and how long you plan on living there, then estimating how much you could reasonably be assured of recapturing upon the property’s sale. You may also have a budget in mind. We can assist by providing ballpark figures reflecting the work you want completed. Phases, material selections, and your ability or willingness to complete portions of the work can affect the budget. As always, we will undertake the design with a clear understanding of the investment level at which you are most comfortable.

What are some questions I should ask myself when considering my landscaping plans?
Some of the most important questions are as follows:
  • What areas on your property would you like to enhance the most?
  • Do you have a copy of a plot map from your builder or county that gives specific dimensions along with a house footprint?
  • Have you assessed your family’s needs?
  • Do you have a budget or timeframe in mind?
  • Please see our design page for a detailed list of considerations.
